Image Access from Wuppertal, Germany presents the first wide format duplex scanner at the DMS Expo in Cologne. The WideTEK 36 DS is the world’s first wide format scanner for duplex digitalization of newspapers and other double-sided printed documents. The very compact WideTEK 36 DS needs only four seconds to scan the front and back sides of a newspaper page (at 200 dpi). This scanner offers considerable advantages to press clipping services, libraries and archives who, until now, had no choice b
Large format scanner users expect fast and effective devices that are easy to operate. A large format scanner meeting today’s expectations might look something like this: ready for use in a few minutes without installation work; a scanner that is operating system independent, a scanner that reaches an unrivalled scan speed and an uncompromising scan quality, a scanner that scans very long documents and processes large volumes of data quickly and safely. Large format scanners outfitted with the
For accurate color reproduction of scanned images, Image Access has developed an online tool for creating individual ICC profiles; Scan2ICC. ICC profiling ensures a high color quality from scan to printout in a color managed process. The user can be certain that the scanned image and the print of the image both present the same color.
Image Access, Wuppertal, a leading manufacturer of high-performance scanners, demonstrates new devices for fast and cost-efficient scanning and archiving of large, fragile or transparent documents at this year´s CeBIT (Hall 3, booth C30). The WideTEK large format family of scannners are the first devices to feature an online tool for creating an individual ICC profile.
WideTEK 36, named „the world’s fastest and most innovative large format scanner“ by the independent testing laboratory Bertl, now provides even higher production efficiency. The high resolution device scans 36 inch wide documents at 12.4 inches per second (18.9 m/minute) in a resolution of 200 dpi in 24 bit color. At 400 dpi resolution, scanning at 6.2 ips (9.4 m/minute) enables optimal throughput and image quality even at higher resolutions.
WideTEK scanners already scan historical and valuable documents gently thanks to spring-loaded ball bearings. To protect such documents even more, Image Access offers transparent DIN A1 envelopes to hold particularly fragile documents.
Image Access now integrates the same Scan2Net® technology and hardware architecture, voted Bertl’s Best in 2008 for Wide Format Innovative and Fastest Performance Color Scanner on the WideTEK 36, into a compact flatbed professional imaging solution. Offering the full features and functionality of the larger Image Access scanners, the WideTEK 25 is the industry-s fastest color flatbed scanner for documents up to 25 inches in width.
Image Access now offers a white backplate for digitalization of transparent large format documents for all of its wide format scanners. This simple but effective accessory is considerably more cost-effective than a conventional backlight unit.
Image Access has been awarded the 13th Annual Bertl´s Best Award. The WideTEK 36 was named as Bertl’s Best Wide Format Innovative and Fastest Performance Color Scanner.
