Registration in the .aero domain is only available to members of the aviation community, which includes companies, organizations, associations, government agencies and individuals. Registrants of aero-domains form an exclusive community of aviation professionals, businesses and organizations and hence has a unique authenticity not available with a generic or country specific domain.
The Sunrise Period of asia-domains has closed at 2007 January 31. Individual companies and the general public will soon be eligible to register for available asia-domains when the Landrush phase kicks off on February 20, 2008. Landrush concludes on March 12, with Go Live scheduled for March 26, 2008.

On 9.27.2006, the European Patent Office granted ThinPrint GmbH a patent (EP 1 407 369 B1) concerning a procedure for print output for mobile devices. The core of the procedure is the fact that the print job is not generated on the mobile device but on an appropriate server, while the print output still occurs via the mobile device.
