FRANKFURT AM MAIN, GERMANY — (Marketwire) — 12/13/11 — For the second European be.project competition, management and technology consultancy BearingPoint () is earmarking up to EUR30,000 to support an initiative by European students involving a meaningful project of general interest. In addition to this funding, BearingPoint is supporting the prize-winners for a year in preparing and implementing their projects.
In 2012, the competition consolidates its European dimension by bringing leading colleges and universities in Germany, Switzerland, the Netherlands, Belgium and France into competition with one another. Each local winner will receive a grant of EUR15,000 and will have the chance to win a further EUR15,000 at the European final in Brussels. In awarding this grant, BearingPoint hopes to encourage students at European universities and colleges to implement its values and principles, namely passion, excellence, teaming, commitment and stewardship. The amount of the prize – among the highest in Europe – testifies to BearingPoint-s commitment to these students to fund major projects and build long-term relationships with them.
In the words of Peter Mockler, Managing Partner at BearingPoint: “Last year edition revealed the exceptional talent of students at EM Lyon, Delft University of Technology, University of St. Gallen, HafenCity University Hamburg and Zeppelin University, from the birth of their idea through to final implementation. This second competition is an opportunity for new teams from leading European universities and colleges to carry out projects, with BearingPoint, which are as ambitious and generous as they are”.
BearingPoint will select the projects on the basis of the following main criteria:
The many projects received in 2011 from 90 candidate European teams testify to students- interest in be.project.
For practical purposes, be.project takes the form of a competition between teams composed of between 2 and 10 students.
