In 1991, a few friends volunteering for several child welfare organizations, including the Children-s Home Society (CHS), were asked by CHS to form an auxiliary volunteer group. The mission of this auxiliary, named “Amigos of Children-s Home Society”, was to create awareness and obtain support from South Florida-s burgeoning Hispanic community. Due to the growing needs of disadvantaged children in the region, the group branched off to form Amigos Together For Kids, yet remained a committed supporter of CHS.
