REDMOND, WA — (Marketwire) — 12/01/11 — Data I/O Corporation (NASDAQ: DAIO), the leading provider of device programming and handling solutions worldwide, announced today the release of its Factory Integration Software (FIS) for PS Series Handlers. The company gave a preview of the software recently at the Productronica Tradeshow in Munich, Germany.
“The response we received about Factory Integration Software from customers at Productronica was overwhelmingly positive,” said Bob Francis, Senior Project Manager at Data I/O. “In addition to the customers already implementing FIS in their factory, we had numerous customers inquire about how they can get the benefits that FIS provides.”
Today, manufacturers are under tremendous pressure to ensure that the correct data is flashed into their devices to eliminate scrap and rework. Manufacturers need absolute assurance that the correct program for each assembly is loaded by the programming equipment prior to population of the device on the circuit board. PS Series automated programming solutions with Factory Integration Software (FIS) helps manufacturers to eliminate operator errors, reduce the risk of recalls, and reduce programming costs.
FIS Track and Remote modules easily interface with external software systems, like MES (Manufacturing Execution Software). FIS Track enables automated collection and export of programming results. This supports traceability, reduces the risk of recalls, and enables decision making that minimizes scrap. FIS Remote provides remote control of programming commands eliminating operator errors related to job selection and downloads, ensuring that the correct data is programmed into the correct device on each line.
