SAN RAMON, CA — (Marketwire) — 11/17/11 — , a leading provider of Apache Subversion-based software and services for the enterprise, and a major corporate sponsor of the Subversion project, has announced an update to 2009-s Forrester Total Economic Impact (TEI) report on its product.
At the time of the original Forrester study, Subversion MultiSite was sold under a perpetual license model with recurring annual maintenance and support. WANdisco has since moved to an annual subscription license model for all of its products, including Subversion MultiSite, and the report has been updated to reflect this move.
The subject of the updated report is a Global Fortune 500, US-based manufacturer of electronic components, which are used in a broad range of commercial and consumer applications. When the original TEI study was conducted, had been installed at two locations in the US and Asia, and was used by approximately 520 users. Since that time, a third site has been added in Europe and the number of users has grown to 1000. Like virtually all of WANdisco-s customers, the company transitioned to the new subscription model.
As the original 2009 study predicted, the addition of new sites and users increased the ROI and reduced the payback period. The addition of a third site, and near doubling of the number of users, in combination with WANdisco-s new subscription licensing, saw ROI climb from 167% in the original study, to 380% over the same three year span. At the same time, the payback period fell from 11 months to 4.
Other key benefits the organization experienced from deploying Subversion MultiSite, include:
Two days of developer idle time eliminated each day.
100% increase on the number of builds completed each day.
30% increase in bug fix rates.
Elimination of downtime for maintenance.
Ongoing maintenance costs effectively zero.
Increased developer productivity due to improved network performance.
