SALT LAKE CITY, UT and PALM BEACH, FL — (Marketwire) — 11/10/11 — () today announced that Goya Foods was recognized with a Mobilizer Award for supply chain operations by Mobile Enterprise magazine based on the Latino cuisine company-s use of Wavelink® .
Goya Foods recently deployed Wavelink Speakeasy to add to its mobile devices accessing its warehouse management system. Speakeasy allows for hands-free data operation of mobile devices without modification to the host applications or requiring new hardware or servers, drastically reducing both implementation time and costs.
“Goya has improved productivity and safety in its warehouses by letting case pickers confirm quantities through speech instead of using a keyboard,” said Luis Ramos, general manager for Goya Foods. “The ability to combine voice with other types of data entry, such as barcode scanning, provides a further crosscheck to ensure that tasks are accurately completed. As inventory is moved from the warehouse and through distribution to their outlets, the entire process has become more efficient and cost-effective.”
Goya also uses Wavelink Avalanche® to , deploy new devices and applications and perform software and configuration updates. An administrator can centrally manage the entire population of wireless assets, making changes and pushing them out to all the devices. For example, if they want to add additional voice commands, make changes to the interface or voice-enable another command line, they don-t need to individually reprogram each of the devices. They can simply push a small change out from the management console.
Goya and Wavelink were recognized today as part of an Awards Ceremony and Winner-s Reception at the Mobile Enterprise Executive Summit in Palm Beach, Fla. The selection was made by a panel of judges comprised of Mobile Enterprise editors and its editorial advisory board based on ease of deployment, innovation, business improvement and ROI.
