SAN JOSE, CA — (Marketwire) — 11/03/11 — The City of San José Green Vision has been a huge success, and this Saturday, November 5th is your last chance to access the latest in solar, wind turbine, electric vehicle and solar hot water technologies. On Saturday, the showcase will open its doors for the final time from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m., and guided tours will be provided at 9:00 a.m. and 11:00 a.m. Walk-ins are welcome, but registration for the free tours is encouraged and can be confirmed . The Showcase is an exciting hands-on demonstration of solar technologies to help educate, inform and enable the community to go solar and save money!

The Showcase is across from San José City Hall, at 200 E. Santa Clara Street between 4th and 5th Street.

This project, funded by the Department of Energy matching private donors, supports key goals of the City of by educating consumers about clean energy solutions and resources for green collar workforce training.

Solar America Cities Special Projects, funded in 2009 through the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act, tackle key barriers to urban solar energy use that were identified through the 25 city partnerships. The objective of the City of San José Solar America Cities project is to support the City-s Green Vision, which is to ultimately ensure that 100% of the city-s electricity needs are met by renewable resources. Over the past 24-months, the City has been implementing strategies to raise awareness around solar, increase the number of solar installations and provide more opportunities to purchase or invest in green power.
