LIVERMORE, CA — (Marketwire) — 11/03/11 — Epicor Software Corporation, a global leader in for manufacturing, distribution, retail and services organizations, today announced that Leiter-s Compounding Pharmacy has chosen the platform to be its business management and . Leiter-s Compounding Pharmacy executives recently selected the Epicor solution to help them manage and track their shipped orders.
Founded in 1926, Leiter-s Compounding Pharmacy provides pharmaceutical care and specialty compounding services. The single-location business has a complete retail pharmacy that stocks the latest over-the-counter (OTC) medications and hard to find pharmaceuticals. Leiter-s also has a 1,200 square foot compounding lab, where it compounds sterile products and ships them across the nation.
Recognized as one of the leading ophthalmic pharmacies in the U.S., Leiter-s does a significant amount of business with consumers, doctors and hospitals across the country. The company-s shipping department dispatches between 300 and 500 packages a day. All shipments and local purchases are managed using a combination of the company-s Pharmacy Management System (PMS), QuickBooks®, and regular cash registers. However, as the business has grown, it has become more difficult to manage everything using these technologies. In early 2010, Leiter-s Compounding Pharmacy executives decided it was time to invest in a technology upgrade. They conducted an extensive 18-month evaluation of , and selected the Eagle solution.
“Our business has grown to the point where it had become difficult to manage and track all of our shipments and purchase orders. We looked far and wide for a POS and business management system that could drill down on invoices, track partial payments and pull unpaid purchase order numbers. Eagle was the only solution that met all of our needs,” said Charles Leiter, co-owner of Leiter-s Compounding Pharmacy. “We expect that the Eagle system will make our operations more efficient and increase productivity. It should allow us to get orders out more quickly and with less shipping and billing errors.”
“Pharmacies come in all shapes and sizes — every one with its own set of unique challenges and opportunities,” said Paul Salsgiver, executive vice president and general manager, retail software for Epicor. “Developed from decades of retail experience and customer input, the Epicor Eagle solution is a full-featured POS and retail business management suite capable of improving a pharmacy-s operations, regardless of its size or business model.”
