TORONTO, ONTARIO — (Marketwire) — 10/13/11 — Compugen Inc., Canada-s largest privately owned information technology (IT) service provider, is pleased to announce the successful start of a comprehensive, long term IT support agreement with the Canadian Museum of Civilization Corporation (CMCC), one of North America-s most highly respected cultural organizations. Compugen was selected for the partnership through an open tendering process.
CMCC is the Federal Crown Corporation responsible for the Canadian Museum of Civilization and the Canadian War Museum. Under this novel partnership, Compugen provides CMCC and its employees with bilingual Help Desk services, desk-side technical support, and consulting services, using a managed service. Compugen is responsible for supporting CMCC-s entire IT infrastructure including servers, storage, networking, and user-computing services. The company will provide the services for up to 10 years.
“We are delighted to be chosen by The Canadian Museum of Civilization Corporation as its IT partner,” said Harry Zarek, President and CEO of Compugen. “As a proud Canadian company we enthusiastically look forward to working shoulder to shoulder with the stakeholders of this revered institution, and helping them in any way we can to preserve and promote Canadian identity.”
Compugen is obligated to meet a stringent set of Service Level Agreements (SLAs) that delineate a superior level of support on behalf of the employees of the Crown Corporation. Compugen provides CMCC senior managers with a real-time view of its system health through an innovative dashboard, and conducts regular surveys of CMCC employees to gauge the user experience. Formal reviews are conducted monthly to keep both organizations well informed of the service performance.
In their partnership with Compugen, CMCC has open access to the broad experience and skills of Compugen-s team of professionals. This provides CMCC with an extensive, knowledgeable and experienced support team to supplement its internal resources.
“We were impressed with Compugen-s submission in the tendering process and its reputation as a full-service IT provider,” said Bruce Watkinson, CIO of The Canadian Museum of Civilization Corporation. “We are very pleased with our relationship to date and look forward to a long and successful partnership.”
Compugen was awarded the contract in late 2010. Through the concerted efforts of both parties, the cut-over to full operation took place on December 31, 2010. Operations have been running smoothly ever since.
