SAN FRANCISCO, CA — (Marketwire) — 09/13/11 — — A new, free mobile application from Taleo Corporation (NASDAQ: TLEO), the global leader of SaaS-based solutions, will allow professionals to engage with their talent network wherever they go — from conferences to coffee shops.
combines location-based mobile technology with to pinpoint opportunities and match them with professionals whose skills and experience make them candidates for job openings, new business pitches, or professional collaboration and networking. The new app is from the iTunes AppStore for Apple iPhone, iPad and iPod touch running iOS 4.0 and later. Taleo also plans to release Taleo Radar on Android and BlackBerry platforms.
“More and more of today-s smart phone users rely on services that use GPS-based location information to connect them with relevant offers, or to alert them whenever their friends and colleagues are nearby,” said Jason Blessing, executive vice president of products and technology at Taleo. “Taleo Radar takes this concept and then adds talent intelligence to give professionals real-time visibility into the people and opportunities around them. Like no other application or service, Taleo Radar offers the ability to drive people toward the openings that could change their careers and their business.”
Taleo Radar offers professionals an easy way to promote their skills and expertise to interested parties located a few blocks away, or even in the same room. They simply download the app and then provide some basic information — such as name, job title, photo and contact information — that will be broadcasted through the network. Users can then add simple posts about what they have to offer, how long they plan to be in a particular location, and the kind of opportunity they-re seeking.
When users share their presence, they in turn can see other professionals located near them, with potential contacts displayed on a map or in a list view — whichever users prefer. When they spot someone they-re interested in meeting, they simply send a connection request. Only after the recipient responds can a connection be established.
To ensure a safe and secure way to network and collaborate, Taleo Radar gives users ultimate control over how much or little they want to broadcast. For instance, one person may wish to list only her job title, experience and the type of opportunity she-s seeking. Someone else may opt to broadcast more information, including a photo.
“Whether interviewing for a new job or presenting their start-up idea to a venture capitalist, Taleo Radar users can harness the power of talent intelligence and the advantage offered by proximity and availability to transform a cup of coffee into the next job or the next deal,” added Blessing.
And because the new app is powered by Taleo-s , creating a Taleo Radar account also registers users for a Universal Profile that can be used on Talent Exchange to apply for jobs at thousands of employers, nearly 50 percent of the Fortune 100 and nearly 80 percent of the Fortune 500.
