NEW YORK, NY — (Marketwire) — 09/09/11 — MediaPost Communications today announced that MEDIA Magazine-s Future of Media Forum will be held on Wednesday, October 5th, 2011. This year-s forum will be hosted and sponsored by the NYU School of Continuing and Professional Studies (NYU-SCPS) through the Master-s Program in Graphic Communications Management and Technology and held at the NYU Kimmel Center to coincide with Advertising Week, an annual gathering of advertising, marketing, media and communications leaders.
“We-re excited to again present our annual exploration of the frontiers of Media,” said Kenneth Fadner, MediaPost-s Chairman and Publisher. “Things have changed so rapidly and so dramatically in the world of media that we-ve had lively reports and debates for four straight years. The Future of Media Forum is all about where we-re going as an industry. With that question continually under study, what better host and sponsor for the Forum than NYU, New York City-s top academic institution covering the same subject matter?”
The Future of Media brings together the most prominent executives from all sides of the media business to share and discuss the industry-s future. Prior participants have included, Martha Stewart, Mark Cuban, Ken Auletta, Chris Anderson, Jeff Goodby, Susan Whiting, Reed Hoffman, Evan Williams, Fred Wilson and former CBS News President Andrew Heyward. This year-s panel is quickly forming and will include top execs from Meredith Corporation, GE, NYU and other major companies and institutions.
Bonnie Blake, academic program director of the NYU-SCPS Master-s Program in Graphic Communications Management and Technology stated: “We are pleased to host and sponsor the 2011 Future of Media Forum. This is an important discussion about the future of media and the many challenges and opportunities it offers. The Forum will encourage an exchange of ideas among students, alumni, faculty members, and industry leaders.”
