FORT WORTH, TX — (Marketwire) — 09/02/11 — held its fifth annual Campaign during the month of August. Allied and its employees pledged and donated more than $31,000 to the organization, with the majority of funds to be deducted from employee payroll checks during the 2012 year. Employees will give approximately $19,000 from their own pockets, and the company will donate the remainder.
“I continue to be amazed with Allied team members and their commitment to people,” says Allied President Lee Davidson. “Allied is a family, and we reach out to take care of others. This is evident in the fantastic response to the United Way campaign.”
Allied-s employee council, responsible for corporate community outreach, coordinated the campaign with a goal to increase the number of givers from last year. The council focused on educating employees that small donations can make significant differences. The number of Allied givers more than doubled from the previous campaign, with 139 employees participating.
“Allied Electronics is a perfect example of how individuals come together for their community,” says Crystal Alba, director of resource development for United Way of Tarrant County. “When we invest in our community, we invest in ourselves. These investments will help struggling students learn to read, graduate, and succeed. They will also help low-income, working families manage their money, and older adults will stay more independent at home.”
All givers were entered into a drawing to win vacation days, gift cards and Allied gear. In addition, everyone who donated any amount received a T-shirt and a button imprinted with the phrase, “I made a difference.”
