In this role, Wood will help formulate technology strategy, drive all product development and grow and manage the engineering team. Wood joins Pure Storage from Harmonic, where he served as senior vice president of engineering and was instrumental in driving key product development efforts. Previously, Wood served for four years as vice president of file system engineering at NetApp, where he was responsible for NetApp-s WAFL file system and their next generation clustered file system. Wood joined NetApp in 2005 after the company acquired Decru, where he was part of the original executive team and was responsible for all product development during a period when the company tripled its global engineering organization. He holds a Ph.D. in Theoretical Physics from University of Colorado, Boulder.
