BOXBOROUGH, MA — (Marketwire) — 08/24/11 — SynQor today announced that the Federal Court for the Eastern District of Texas has entered final judgment in the matter SynQor, Inc. v. Artesyn Technologies, Inc., et al., Civil Action No. 2:07-CV-497-TJW-CE.
In this action SynQor brought suit against eleven of the largest industry suppliers of unregulated and semi-regulated bus converters used in Intermediate Bus Architecture applications. That amount was later supplemented by an additional damage award of more than $17M. In entering final judgment on August 18, the Court also awarded SynQor more than $1.45M in pre-judgment interest, awarded post-judgment interest at the statutory rate and denied the defendants- many motions seeking to set aside the jury verdict.
The defendants in the case are Artesyn Technologies, Inc., Astec America, Inc., Bel Fuse Inc., Cherokee International Corp., Delta Electronics, Inc., Delta Products Corp., Lineage Power Corp., Murata Elec. North America, Inc., Murata Manufacturing Co., Ltd., Murata Power Solutions Inc., and Power-One, Inc.

SynQor President and Chief Executive Officer, Dr. Martin F. Schlecht, commented: “We are very pleased that the Court upheld the jury verdict and denied the defendants- requests for a new trial and other post-trial motions. We are confident that this award will also be upheld in the event of any appeal.”
