Densely populated and underserved areas across the UK are set to benefit from high speed and reliable broadband thanks to Genesis Technical Systems’ mBond technology
Coventry, UK – 17 October 2017 – Genesis Technical Systems today announced it has received orders from Next Generation Access (NGA), a UK national carrier, for its mBond® technology. By deploying the Genesis solution on its existing telecommunications infrastructure, NGA will be able to provide high speed, reliable, last mile connectivity to homes and businesses across the UK.
Steve East, Senior Vice President, Genesis, said: “Genesis is delighted to receive this initial order from NGA as it represents the first deployment across a high growth, national network infrastructure. mBond will benefit NGA network partners, which will in turn be of benefit to customers around the UK. This will further establish mBond as a credible, and important technology, within the industry.”
The initial deployment is scheduled to take place in January 2018 in Guildford, Surrey.
Kenny Roberts, Technical Director and Founder of NGA, commented: “After many months of technology analysis, the mBond – in combination with our primary MSAN equipment – offered the best possible performance, cost efficiency and reliability for our customers around the country. Genesis products are pivotal to the growth and success of NextGen Access. They are strategically important and help us achieve our business goals; to deliver next generation, high speed connectivity to underserved areas. The Genesis team is helping us to turn this ambition into a reality.”
mBond can deliver Point-to-Point or Point-to-MultiPoint solutions that deliver massive bandwidth improvements in suburban and rural networks. mBond enables service providers to deliver more than 1Gb/s, or 100s Mb/s over extended distances, and enables connectivity to large businesses and enterprises, multi-dwelling units, mobile base stations and a host of other applications.
This order follows mBond’s recent British Telecom certification, which is widely seen as a ‘Gold Standard’ in the industry. Genesis is one of only nine global manufacturers to have achieved this type of compliance.
Peter Khoury, Genesis Chief Executive and Legal Counsel, said: “mBond enables life-changing broadband speeds in underserved suburban and rural areas. mBond, which is also being evaluated by several global Tier 1 and Tier 2 carriers, addresses government legislation by enabling service providers to massively increase broadband bandwidths in the last mile, and exceed national broadband targets. The Genesis team look forward to working with NGA, and bringing fast and reliable connectivity to their customers.”
