Thanks to new SIP technology, emergency services can be dispatched to the caller more quickly
Fareham, UK – August 1, 2017 – German network operator M-net Telekommunikations GmbH has chosen Telsis’ Emergency Service Location Information (ESLI) solution to upgrade their telecommunications network. By upgrading to ESLI, M-net will be able to comply with new German regulation that requires caller location information to be supplied in the signalling for calls to emergency services.
M-net is the first Telsis Ocean Services Platform (OSP) customer to upgrade to the new ESLI feature, which supports Session Initiation Protocol (SIP) communications. Because SIP signalling technology allows specific address information to be included with the call, emergency services can be dispatched to the caller more quickly.
Lorenz Grehlich, Head of Services Planning and Implementation for M-net, added: “In an emergency, every second counts. Our selection of the Emergency Service Location Information solution from Telsis helps us to comply with the German TR-Notruf regulations to ensure faster response times.”
Telsis has a successful track-record of delivering leading-edge solutions to M-net, and has worked closely with the German operator to migrate their services from legacy network technology to next-generation architecture running the agile OSP software. OSP easily spans between next-generation and legacy networks, supporting both physical and virtualised environments.
Frank Duderstadt, VP of Planning and Implementation for M-net, said: “Telsis has been our trusted partner and supplier for the past ten years, and we knew we could rely on their technical know-how to help us transition from traditional network technology to advanced communication systems that support SIP signalling protocols.”
Managing Director of Telsis GmbH, Mr. Peter Ritzmann, concluded: “We’re pleased to be able to assist our valued customer M-net as they upgrade their network architecture from INAP to SIP-based signalling. M-net’s decision to implement the Emergency Service Location Information solution as part of their deployment of the Telsis Ocean Services Platform will provide subscribers with peace of mind and convenience.”
