High Wycombe, UK, 8 June 2017 At TechXLR8 Expo 2017 (13 – 15 June, ExCeL, London) international POS printer manufacturer Star Micronics (Stand CL410 in Cloud & DevOps World) will be demonstrating its extensive range of Bluetooth and Cloud mPOS printing solutions used in a variety of applications and environments from pop-up shops to department stores, fast food restaurants and cafés, logistics to licensed taxis in London.
Star’s experience in hardware integration in the ever-expanding mobile payment market as well as comprehensive multi-product API and SDKs allow developers to easily integrate custom Android, iOS and Windows based apps for retail, hospitality, event ticketing and in-store payment to provide a seamless solution.
Providing connectivity at every level, Star continues to expand its renowned TSP100 futurePRNT series by developing the first POS receipt printer solution today to provide direct iPad receipt printing, removing the insecurity of wireless connection in difficult environments. As well as working with a traditional POS terminal, the TSP143IIIU can connect directly to an iPad or iPhone using the Apple-supplied lightning cable for reliable USB communication. As a result, the usual Bluetooth or WiFi / wired LAN set-up issues around pairing, network infrastructure, connectivity etc. are eliminated. No other stand-alone POS printer can achieve this.
Further enhancing its range of Cloud solutions, Star’s CloudPRNT technology provides Cloud connectivity at every level for countertop and mobile printing solutions. With remote printing directly and securely from a web server to any Star printer in the world without the need for a local POS terminal or PC, this solution is ideal for Cloud-based POS applications such as shelf-edge labelling, Click & Collect, restaurant aggregation and courier deliveries.
The Star TSP654II, TSP743II and TSP847II label, ticket and receipt printers as well as the SP700 kitchen printer can easily be upgraded and transformed into a remote Cloud printer by simply using the cost-effective HI X Connect interface. Fitted to the compatible printer models, the HI X Connect interface boasts a variety of connectivity options and Development Tools to provide a versatile future-proof solution. WiFi, USB and Ethernet connections can all be used concurrently with the printer printing on a first come, first served basis. Alternatively, the TSP654II HI X printer with built-in interface is cloud-ready.
The versatility of HI X Connect is further enhanced by Star’s free-of-charge digital receipting platform and AllReceipts App. This service provides the ability to log into the printer interface to automatically upload all receipts and coupon images to Star’s Cloud Services for customers to download to their mobile device by simply scanning the automatically generated QR code.
For mobile applications, Star has introduced yet another unique mobile printer for POS and logistics applications. The easy-to-use SM-L300 with OLED display uniquely features Bluetooth 4 (BLE) connectivity as well as Classic Bluetooth allowing it to connect with multiple iOS devices. With reflective (black mark), transmissive and paper end sensors as well as an 80mm (3 inch) print width, the SM-L300 is ideal for printing in-store, in-field receipts and visit reports.
Designed to operate from either a person’s belt with an exceptional 41 hour battery life or using the in-vehicle mount option, the versatile printer sits comfortably in the 5V counter top cradle charger and can even be charged using a micro USB cable.
Star is renowned for providing excellent software support and easy integration. This is evident by the number of developer tools included with the SM-L300 – Star’s WebPRNT Browser for direct web printing along with Star’s PassPRNT print data relaying application.
“The POS landscape is rapidly evolving”, states Annette Tarlton, Marketing Director, Star Micronics EMEA. “As the Cloud becomes more prevalent and tablet POS takes on greater importance, Star has developed an extensive portfolio that responds to these market changes with the very latest mPOS technology providing connectivity at every level.”
