(S4M) Cologne, February-8, 2008 – Representatives of German private and public service TV broadcasters joined the VPMS User Group Meeting at the end of January. For the second time now, S4M – Solutions for Media had invited VPMS users from all over Germany to get together in Cologne.
VPMS is S4M’s Video Production Management System. It is employed by both private and public service broadcasters in Germany and Europe and supports the management of digital Video assets – from acquisition through versatile production schemes to playout, distribution and archiving.
Holger Noske, Head of Digital Media Management at S4M, expressed satisfaction with the event: “Again, it was a complete success. Just like last year, we could enjoy exciting discussions. About 60 representatives of German TV broadcasters took advantage of the meeting as a first-class forum for expert talk and exchange of experiences.” The agenda of the two day meeting featured lectures in step with actual practice, presentations and information on the system’s recent developments and running projects. As part of the meeting’s concept, VPMS users contribute lectures on their work with the S4M system. This time, Mirko Zimmer of Hessischer Rundfunk informed the plenum about VPMS within the context of the public broadcaster’s tapeless approach.
