Madley, UK. 24 April 2017: ETL Systems, a global designer and manufacturer of RF signal distribution equipment for satellite communications, has been selected by a major US broadcasting network in a top 10 Designated Market Area (DMA) to upgrade its satellite infrastructure.
ETL will provide two of its best-in-class 64×64 Vortex L-band matrix systems and six of its 16-port LNB PSU (Low Noise Block Power Supply) solutions for the major contract, which will be operated at two satellite downlink facilities that the network affiliates operate within its geographical region. Plans to begin shipping and installing the equipment are projected to be end of May 2017.
“The reliability and technical strength of our products made it the ideal choice for the replacement of the customer’s existing system, which was 12-15 years old and in need of a major overhaul or replacement,” said Bill Pryle, International Sales Manager for ETL Systems. “Our RF solutions coincide perfectly with the broadcaster’s requirements, and our track record of resiliency and consistent performance at other broadcast sites was a huge factor in gaining the win for ETL.”
The 64×64 Vortex L-band Matrix system provides hot-swap capabilities, ensuring minimal downtime in the unlikely event of a failure ensuring that costly downtime is reduced. The 16-port LNB PSU offers a compact solution for 18V LNB powering, featuring hot-swap dual redundant power supplies for reliability.
“We are delighted to be chosen for this exciting project, as this demonstrates the stringent technical capabilities of our RF equipment. This project provides a huge boost to ETL Systems’ position in the US market, demonstrating the range and flexibility of RF solutions that ETL Systems offer,” added Mr Pryle.
