New focus day and co-location with LPWA World to make flagship event bigger than ever before
London, UK. 4 April 2017 – Whilst technology advances and new products emerge in the small cells, Wi-Fi and DAS markets, the SCWS Series (formerly Small Cells and Carrier Wi-Fi World Series), organised by Avren Events, has announced the exciting introduction of new features to its annual congregation, including a Proof of Concept Zone and a Mobile Edge Computing (MEC) Focus Day in partnership with ETSI. In addition, the event will be co-located with LPWA World, the Internet of Things (IoT) network event, to open new markets and spark conversation with industry experts.
The SCWS Series will be held at the Intercontinental O2 Hotel in London, UK from the 22 – 25 May 2017, showcasing trial and deployment experiences from the entire small cells ecosystem. Exclusively endorsed by the Small Cell Forum, SCWS Series provides a platform for product launches and technology developments, backed by qualified industry stakeholders.
As part of the new features for 2017, the Proof of Concept Zone will allow for a lively and detailed exploration of developments in areas such as Virtualization, Outdoor, Stadium Technology, Open Source, Host Neutral and more. Meanwhile the new MEC Focus Day will join the Stadium IoT and Connectivity Focus Day, aiming to bring practical advice to CTOs, engineers and senior managers.
“Bringing the MEC focus day to SCWS Series will build engagement within the small cells community, promoting review of the latest trends and developments in edge computing uses, trials and technologies. The Stadium IoT and Connectivity Focus Day looks to the future, uniting large-scale venues and technology solutions to address the needs and capabilities within the space. These two focus days, paired with the new co-located event, LPWA, bring such diversity to SCWS Series,” said Andrew Cleary, Head of Marketing at Avren Events.
The SCWS Series Office and Stadium Spaces have also been given a refresh, operating as education hubs where delegates can learn about deployment scenarios and case studies. Leaders in Europe, Americas, Asia Pacific and MENA will present the latest developments in their region, covering major verticals such as transport, retail, enterprise and hospitality.
“In previous years, the SCWS Series has welcomed over 1000 senior representatives from the likes of operators, vendors and end user-verticals, and we are introducing these new features to make the event more educational than ever before, allowing for lasting business relationships to evolve,” added Cleary.
