BALTIMORE, MD — (Marketwired) — 11/08/16 — CenturyLink (NYSE: CTL), a leading global communications, hosting, cloud, and IT services company, and Accedian, the end-to-end network performance experts, will demonstrate a new level of performance visibility for global networks at the proof of concept (PoC) showcase. Conference attendees will learn how standards-based, open technologies can be combined to create real-time performance assurance frameworks within the context of big data analytics.
This PoC will demonstrate a diverse set of powerful tools with enhanced monitoring capabilities that can overlay onto existing networks to deliver near-real time, end-to-end visibility of the service and network performance. The tools support the full service lifecycle from service activation testing with MTU, bandwidth and performance verification at service turn-up to ongoing monitoring of service level performance (SLAs) with on-demand troubleshooting for fault isolation and repair. Combining these enhanced monitoring capabilities into a common service assurance framework allows service providers to proactively monitor and manage performance over their own network as well as those delivered over complex, multi-carrier partner networks.
These open, standards-based techniques are fundamental to achieving the MEF–s vision of the Third Network, where end-to-end interoperability of multiple providers, and transport and access technologies, deliver dynamic, carrier-grade services to customers across any geography.
“Combining a wide range of monitoring technologies together into a single, unified system provides near-real time monitoring, alarming and trend analysis which is critical to delivering the best possible customer experience,” explained Drew Flechsig, Director of Network Policy and Performance at CenturyLink. “Accedian has worked closely with us to develop innovative techniques like remote packet capture, sub-second metering, and end-to-end QoS visibility that scale into our growing networks.”
“The technologies we showcase have been field-proven in some of the most demanding circuits, in some of the most diverse regions that CenturyLink services,” said Keith Donahue, VP Product Management and Marketing at Accedian. “These are locations where performance visibility is critical for remote troubleshooting, validated service activation, and performance optimization. It allows an efficient partnership to be established between partner carriers. We–re excited to show this value live, at our proof of concept with CenturyLink during MEF16.”
The PoC will be located in PoC1 area near the Accedian booth #400 at the MEF16 conference.
