OXFORD, UNITED KINGDOM — (Marketwired) — 08/15/16 — Sophos (LSE: SOPH) a global leader in network and endpoint security today announced the appointment of Tony Young as its chief information officer (CIO). In this newly created role on the senior management team, Young will be responsible for the strategy, security and management of the global IT organization at Sophos.
Young joins Sophos from GoPro, where he served as chief information officer. Prior to GoPro, Young was senior vice president for Cloud and Subscription Sales at Informatica, where he was responsible for growing Informatica–s global cloud business. During his career at Informatica, Young also served as chief information officer and as the executive director of North Asia, based in China. Prior to joining Informatica in 2002, Young worked at Converge as the director of Exchange Applications and Mindcrossing as vice president of product development. Young began his career at Hewlett Packard (HP) as a software developer and held a number of information technology and marketing roles during his 11 years there.

Young will be based in the Sophos office in Santa Clara, California and will report directly to chief executive officer, Kris Hagerman.

Young has appeared twice in the CIO Magazine “CIO 100” list, and in 2011 he was selected as a finalist in both the American Business Awards for Information Technology Executive of the Year and the Award for Innovation Leadership from MIT Sloan.
Young holds a bachelor–s degree in Information Systems and a master–s degree in Business Administration from Santa Clara University.
