SILICON VALLEY, CA — (Marketwired) — 07/13/16 — (OTC PINK: PRXM), a pioneer and global leader in advanced Wi-Fi, point to point (PtP), and point to multipoint (PtMP) wireless systems, is announcing the company–s newest flagship PtMP product line, the Tsunami® MP-10100 series. With this release, Proxim continues its leadership in providing carrier-class, high-performance outdoor network infrastructure to the evolving Internet of Things (IoT) 3.0 market. IoT 3.0 addresses applications that support connectivity of “things” that require data rates in the 10s to 100s of Mbps, including video cameras, WiFi off load and backhaul.
At the heart of this new platform lie Proxim–s world-leading suite of technologies designed specifically for these markets and applications. With Proxim–s proprietary WORP® software delivering QoS, high spectral efficiencies, and scalability for networks of things numbering in the hundreds of devices, the MP-10100 products offer all the features of previous platforms as well as backwards compatibility with the Tsunami 800 series and 8000 series.
As with all Tsunami PtMP product lines, the release of the MP-10100 series includes base stations and subscriber units, both with integrated antenna versions including an extended range model with a 28dBi antenna and connectorized versions — the full depth and breadth of products customers expect from Proxim. In addition, product options exist with an additional Wi-Fi radio included both in the subscriber unit and the base station unit, combining standard Wi-Fi and proprietary WORP software into a multi-radio, single enclosure. All of these are running Proxim–s newly released, Simply Powerful, GUI.
With Proxim ClearConnect and Proxim FastConnect built into every product at no extra cost, Proxim enables highly reliable, robust operation in heavily RF congested environments as well as high speed mobility for trains, buses, ferries, and more. This is achieved in a form factor that continues Proxim–s commitment to carrier class networks with IP67 enclosures and extended temperature range, at a size that is 40% smaller by volume than the Tsunami 8000 series. Proxim performance, more throughput, more range — simply more all in a smaller box.
“The MP-10100 release shows our commitment in providing the best technology for these applications to the market,” said Greg Marzullo, President and CEO of Proxim Wireless. “The MP-10100 draws upon our experience in delivering many hundreds of thousands of radios for IoT 3.0 and other applications in the most challenging of environments around the world. It is built for real world applications where clean and abundant frequencies are hard to find and harsh environmental conditions require robust solutions. This is where you find Proxim solutions perform at their best. The MP-10100 products live up to this legacy, while delivering advanced features to support the latest IoT 3.0 applications.”
