Multi-vendor demos will show real use cases for NBASE-T products expanding into client and PC platforms. NBASE-T technology offers a seamless upgrade over Gigabit Ethernet and enables five times the speed with no change in cabling infrastructure and a better user experience. Demos will show the transport of data at 2.5G and 5G Ethernet rates across PC platforms, network-attached storage (NAS) devices, server NICs and switches. Connectivity between these products will be based on standard Cat5e cabling, with lengths extending up to 100m. More than a dozen companies have announced products based on NBASE-T technology, including switches that are widely available for the client platforms to plug into.
