NEW YORK, NY — (Marketwired) — 04/11/16 — Light Reading has published the results of a unique and important independent evaluation of virtualized network functions (VNFs) developed by Nokia. The independent test was conducted by leading networking technology test company EANTC, and paid for by Light Reading, to ensure impartial and authoritative results.
EANTC evaluated multiple Nokia VNFs, testing them for performance, scalability and other important attributes and concluded that they achieved carrier-class status and are ready to be deployed by communications network operators.
That–s an important finding, as network operators are at a key stage of their virtualization strategies: They need to decide which parts of their network architecture should be virtualized (and when) in order to become more efficient, develop new business opportunities and gain competitive advantages, yet without losing functionality or degrading performance.
