SAP Certifies TPG PSLink 2016 Integration Middleware

TPG PSLink 2016 is a middleware product that integrates project management software, like Microsoft Project Server and Project Online, with other systems such as SAP, SharePoint (including its Online version), Jira and Dynamics AX. The new SAP tests mean that TPG PSLink has now been certified for integration with SAP for the third time. The new use cases added since the last certification include the integration of CO internal orders, controlling master data (such as cost centers, cost types, service pricing etc.) and exchange rates.

Overall, SAP has certified 11 subject areas covering 48 SAP business functions, known as BAPIs. These include use cases for employee master data, CO master data, WBS structures, networks, maintenance orders, CO internal orders, sales orders, primary cost planning, activity input, revenue planning, and CATS time confirmation as well as the allocation and export of CO activity allocation and cost documents. The product also underwent performance and stress tests to verify its resilience when sharing large data volumes between SAP and other systems.

“We believed it was very important to include as many relevant use cases as possible,” comments Stavros Georgantzis, managing partner at TPG The Project Group. “Our customer implementations are extensive and oriented to project, resource and portfolio management processes. These require links to various SAP modules, including sales & distribution, materials management, controlling and human resources, among others. The traditional project system is usually also a part of that, although not always. The message we’re sending to our customers is that the entire range of relevant SAP integration points has been certified.”

The integration of Microsoft Project and SharePoint – as well as Project Online and SharePoint Online – with ERP and other systems is an essential factor contributing to the efficient use and acceptance of a project management solution. It ensures that staff – including project managers, team leaders and accountants – can work with the tool best suited to their job role and can always access relevant data from other systems. TPG PSLink provides multi-directional data sharing while ensuring the consistency of the data synchronized between the systems.
