VANCOUVER, BRITISH COLUMBIA — (Marketwired) — 03/07/16 — Targeted Microwave Solutions Inc. (CSE: TMS)(OTCQX: TGTMF) (“TMS”) is pleased to announce that it has completed its data analysis from initial commercial-scale drying trials with Nestle-Purina (OTC: NSRGY).
Select highlights of the testing results include:
During three separate test runs in December 2015, TMS processed 75/25 and 50/50 blends of run-of-mine (ROM) montmorillonite clay and air-dried montmorillonite clay (grog) having a total moisture content above 30%TM. The input feed material during testing was designed to simulate commercial conditions, and was sized at 3 inch minus.
The TMS Gen. II system demonstrated the ability to handle clay at 43 tons per hour (“TPH”) at maximum flow capacity. Optimal input energy to drying ratios were observed between 2 – 6 TPH, with the TMS system achieving Nestle-Purina–s drying target of reducing total input moisture from 31.49%TM to 9.51%TM, representing a drying efficiency rate of 1.50 lbs. of water removed per kWh of input energy. This represents an approx. 35% drying efficiency improvement over conventional rotary driers that are the standard in the clay processing and manufacturing industry.
Significantly, the testing also demonstrated that the TMS process could achieve commercially relevant drying targets without generating any polluting air emissions. As increasingly stringent air emissions quotas are adopted in the USA and worldwide, air pollutants generated from conventional thermal drying are resulting in growing compliance costs. The TMS technology could therefore offer significant commercial benefits for a wide array of global industrial operations that rely on fossil-fuel combusting thermal dryers for industrial drying, including, Nestle-Purina.
TMS Chairman Dr. James Young remarked: “This data represents our starting baseline for a commercial clay-drying simulation, and we are thrilled with the observed drying efficiency rate. Importantly, the testing results also affirm that the TMS system is capable of achieving these drying rates without generating polluting air emissions. We believe this advantage alone has the ability to fundamentally disrupt and challenge conventional thermal dryers for supremacy in the multi-billion dollar industrial drying market.”
Nestle-Purina and TMS have agreed to conduct additional joint testing to further explore other important variables, such as bulk density, energy efficiencies, input costs, and material homogeneity.
On behalf of the Board of Directors,
Dr. James Young, Chairman of the Board of Directors
