FREMONT, CA — (Marketwired) — 02/16/16 — , the leader in deception for cyber security threat detection, announced today that in a highly competitive selection process, deception based detection has been selected as the subject for one of the key crowd-sourced sessions at this year–s RSA conference. The session, selected by industry judges from numerous submissions and then voted for by security professionals, will be led by Attivo Networks– Joseph Salazar who is an expert in deception technology for cyber security defense.
Deception and its advanced forensics provide new and much needed visibility into threats that have made their way inside the network. The real-time visibility and forensics gained through detection and attack analysis are designed to misdirect an attacker and provide the time needed to promptly block and quarantine malicious attackers. This new approach to deception has already being adopted by Fortune 500 companies and is rapidly growing amongst federal agencies and organizations across all industries.
Session attendees will be discussing the major advances in techniques, deployment, maintenance and forensics that make up best practices in this highly effective new security solution. Just a few of the elements to be examined are the make-up and use of end-point lures to deceive attackers; the differentiation among deception engagement servers for analysis and containment; as well as an overview of additional detection techniques for detecting stolen credentials, phishing and ransomware; and the protection of highly sensitive SCADA devices. The scalability and management associated with deploying deception technology across public, private and hybrid clouds will also be discussed.
The session is scheduled from 8:00 AM to 8:50 AM on March 3rd in Moscone North, room 130 and is open to anyone with a Full Conference or Discover RSA conference badge.
“I am very excited that deception based technology was voted as one of the select technologies that CISO–s and security personnel are eager to hear about,” Salazar commented. “In my work with some of the best known global brands in business, I–ve seen its incredible effectiveness, combined with easy deployment and low maintenance, make a major impact on security postures. To see this level of interest is amazing and very gratifying.”
“Attivo has taken a clear lead in the deception technology category based on customer deployments and the completeness of our solution,” comments Tushar Kothari, CEO of Attivo Networks. “This kind of interest at the largest security conference in the world speaks volumes about the promise of widespread adoption throughout business and government agencies and the ultimate size of the market.”
Attivo will be demonstrating the technology in its booth N3022 at the Moscone Convention Center in San Francisco.
Attivo Networks is the leader in dynamic deception technology, which in real-time detects intrusions inside the network, data center, and cloud before the data is breached. Leveraging high-interaction deception techniques, the Attivo BOTsink Solution lures BOTs and APTs to reveal themselves, without generating false positives. Designed for efficiency, there are no dependencies on signatures, database lookup or heavy computation to detect and defend against cyber threats. Attivo solutions capture full forensics and provide the threat intelligence to shut down current and protect against future attacks.
