EL DORADO HILLS, CA — (Marketwired) — 02/09/16 — The Embedded Microprocessor Benchmark Consortium () today announced that Huawei Technologies, a global leader of information and communications technology (ICT) solutions, has joined the consortium as a board member. As a member of the Board of Directors, Huawei will have full access to utilize all the benchmark tools provided by EEMBC, and will help drive the consortium–s future direction, especially in the areas of internet of things (IoT), smartphones, and cloud computing and datacenters.
EEMBC was formed in 1997 to develop meaningful performance benchmarks for the hardware and software used in embedded systems. EEMBC benchmarks help predict the performance of embedded processors and systems in a range of applications (e.g. IoT, mobile imaging and autonomous driving with image recognition, cloud and datacenters, and connected devices) and disciplines (e.g. processor core functionality, floating-point, and multicore scaling). EEMBC–s most popular benchmarks include , , and .
“With our 18-year legacy in developing embedded processor benchmarks to our evolution towards advanced system benchmarks, we have come to appreciate the value that embedded system companies bring to the table,” said EEMBC President Markus Levy. “We absolutely welcome Huawei to the consortium and are looking forward to the advice and guidance that a leading ICT company can offer to our working groups for the development next generation processor and system benchmarks.”
EEMBC, the Embedded Microprocessor Benchmark Consortium, was formed in 1997 as a non-profit organization that develops industry-standard benchmarks to test processors, microcontrollers, and the corresponding embedded systems. EEMBC benchmarks help ensure predictable performance of embedded processors and systems in a range of applications and disciplines. Its benchmarks are currently in use within thousands of companies and universities worldwide.
