Delegates from the whole world belong to the work group which is responsible for the development of the world-wide valid series of norms ISO/IEC/IEEE 29119 for software testing. Representatives from the USA, Australia, Japan, England and Germany and the organizations IEEE and TMMI joined the meeting in Moehrendorf.
A centerpiece of the agenda was the development of the fifth part of ISO 29119 about keyword-driven testing. The national standardization committees had sent their comments on the draft version of ISO 29119-5. The work group discussed the comments thoroughly and incorporated them into the text.
imbus consultant Matthias Daigl is the editor of ISO 29119-5. At keyword-driven testing, the test is composed from re-usable elements increasing the maintainability. “This is what makes keyword-driven testing so attractive”, emphasizes Matthias Daigl. “The approach exists for more than ten years. We want to build a helpful reference for it with ISO 29119-5.”
Another issue of the convention was the new norm ISO/IEC 20246. It provides a process model for reviews with practical relevance, which can be used for inspections.
