Oracle Extends Cloud Leadership With Oracle Management Cloud for IT Operations

SAN FRANCISCO, CA — (Marketwired) — 10/27/15 — — Oracle (NYSE: ORCL) today announced (OMC), a suite of next-generation integrated monitoring, management and analytics solutions for IT organizations. Part of the , the new services enable a real-time, collaborative environment in which DevOps leaders, line-of-business managers and business analysts have a clear end-to-end view into the applications and technologies that support business services.

Oracle Management Cloud eliminates multiple information silos across end user and infrastructure data — silos that have traditionally limited visibility and created inefficiency. It renders unnecessary the complex manual application monitoring processes, multiple toolsets and dependence on large groups of IT staff that comprise troubleshooting and decision-making today and instead offers proactive management, rapid trouble-shooting and the ability to run IT like a business. It is designed for today–s heterogeneous environments running Oracle and non-Oracle software, across on-premises, Oracle Cloud and third-party cloud services. Built on a horizontally scalable platform with high throughput big data processing, it provides real-time analysis and deep insights across technical and business events.

The three newly available services include Oracle Application Performance Monitoring Cloud Service, Oracle Log Analytics Cloud Service, and Oracle IT Analytics Cloud Service.

provides development and operations teams with the information that they need to find and fix issues with today–s mobile and web applications rapidly, via deep visibility into your application performance from the end user experience, through application server requests, and down to application logs.

monitors, aggregates, indexes, and analyzes all log data from your on-premises and cloud applications and infrastructure — enabling users to search, explore, and correlate this data to troubleshoot problems faster, derive operational insight and make better decisions.

provides 360-degree insight into the performance, availability, and capacity of applications and IT investments, enabling executives, analysts, and administrators to make critical decisions about their IT operations based on comprehensive system and data analysis.

“Oracle Management Cloud bolsters innovation by improving application visibility, operational efficiency and response time to make businesses more agile and serve end users better,” said Prakash Ramamurthy, senior vice president, Systems & Cloud Management at Oracle. “We continue to extend our leadership by offering high performance enterprise solutions in the cloud, expediting the cloud adoption journey for our customers and making them more competitive.”

“7-Eleven–s 7-Rewards loyalty program mobile application spans across multiple clouds including Oracle and their on-premises datacenters. The solution serves millions of customers daily from tens of thousands of retail stores in US and Canada,” said Ron Clanton, director, Enterprise Architecture, 7-Eleven. “We intend to leverage Oracle Management Cloud–s ability to provide us with Application Performance Management and Log Analytics for end to end visibility across multiple clouds to ensure the highest level of service across our many providers, so that we know about any potential problems before our customers do. Oracle–s ability to handle data sets of our size is extremely important for a service as widely-used as ours.”

“IDEXX provides leading-edge information technology solutions to thousands of animal care facilities throughout the world, leveraging on-premises infrastructure today and incorporating multiple cloud providers going forward,” said Brett Curtis, principal systems administrator at IDEXX, a global leader in diagnostics and information technology solutions for animal health. “As we introduce new innovations more rapidly than ever before, we need a comprehensive operational view of our applications that can keep up with our changing environments and help us plan for the future. We were very impressed to see how quickly Oracle Management Cloud would help us understand performance across distributed application tiers, easily extract relevant pieces of information from thousands of logs, and quickly diagnose problems.”

“We were very excited to get a preview of the Oracle Management Cloud offerings,” said Thomas Clewett, vice president and chief technology officer Exelon Corp, a leading U.S. energy provider. “OMC–s extensive dashboarding capabilities will significantly reduce the time required to troubleshoot application issues by eliminating our current manual approach to investigate many large and disparate sources of data. We believe that the advanced analytical capabilities will be able to proactively alert us to potential application issues before they impact our clients. The sum total of Oracle Management Cloud offerings provide a rapid time-to-value and will enable a smarter and more effective enterprise.”

“The Oracle Management Cloud introduces a highly unified approach to enterprise scale IT Operations Analytics, APM and Log Analysis,” said Mary Johnston Turner, IDC Research vice president Enterprise Systems Management Software. “Many organizations struggle to integrate point APM and log analytics solutions, particularly when it comes to supporting complex applications running on-premises and/or across clouds. Oracle Management Cloud integrates and normalizes data from a wide range of end user, application, middleware and infrastructure sources, including many third party cloud services and development environments. This type of solution can significantly improve the ability of DevOps teams to speed up root cause analysis and more consistently satisfy business SLAs.”

“Oracle has introduced the management platform of the future with Oracle Management Cloud, enabling the –nirvana– of an easy-to-deploy solution that can analyze the entire operational data set from large enterprises with minimal ongoing cost of ownership,” said Mark Nott, vice president, Cloud & XaaS for Hitachi Consulting. “Customers have been led to believe that cloud is simple, but the reality is that simplicity depends on the sophistication of their management capabilities. Oracle Management Cloud makes management of cloud-based (and traditional) environments simple, while providing extremely sophisticated analysis and troubleshooting capabilities. Hitachi Consulting looks forward to working with our mutual customers to maximize their usage of these cutting-edge capabilities.”

The Oracle Management Cloud is the most recent addition to the Oracle Cloud Platform, which delivers a comprehensive, integrated portfolio of services for application development, business analytics, content and collaboration, data management, integration, and mobile. The Oracle Cloud continues to show strong adoption, supporting 70+ million users and more than 34 billion transactions each day. It runs on more than 50,000 devices and more than 800 petabytes of storage in 19 data centers around the world.
