IDC FutureScape Web Conferences Will Present 2016 Predictions with a Focus on Digital Transformation

.2015 – International Data Corporation (IDC) today announced a new format for its annual predictions presentations. Starting with a live Webcast to be held November 4th at 12:00 p.m. EST, IDC Chief Analyst Frank Gens will present ten major developments that IDC believes will redefine the IT industry over the next 18-36 months and impact every industry that uses IT to compete. Following the live event on November 4th, IDC will offer more than 30 on-demand Web conferences covering topics including Digital Transformation (DX), CIO Agenda, the Internet of Things (IoT), Smart Cities, Big Data and Analytics, Cloud Computing, and more. To register for any of these events, please go to http://www.idc.com/idcfuturescapes2016.
According to IDC, the “next chapter” of the 3rd Platform will unfold as the market moves from the foundation stage to mainstream adoption, at massive scale. With most organizations now utilizing 3rd Platform technologies to drive the digital transformation of their organization, the industry finds itself at an inflection point ? those organizations that can rapidly scale their digital transformation efforts by leveraging 3rd Platform technologies will be the ones that thrive in the digital economy. To be successful, organizations need strong leadership to pull away from the pack and emerge as industry front runners.
“In IDC–s FutureScape Web conferences, we–ll offer predictions and guidance that, together, provide the definitive blueprint for competing and leading in the rapidly-emerging –DX Economy–,” said Frank Gens, Senior Vice President and Chief Analyst at IDC. “We–ll also focus on the adoption of critical new tools like IoT and cognitive technologies, building all-important data pipelines in and out of every enterprise, techniques for reaching –DX scale– in supply and distribution networks and in customer engagement, and other strategic priorities for executives in 2016.”
“With two thirds of CEOs expected to move digital transformation to the center of their corporate strategy in the next several years, the stakes just got higher. Those organizations that can break out of the silos and scale their digital transformation efforts across entire organizations will be best set up to succeed,” added Meredith Whalen, Senior Vice President, IT Executive and Industry Research.
