Avaya achieves third highest product scores in two use cases: Enterprise Unified Wired and WLAN Access Use Case and SMB and/or Mall or Remote Branch Office Use Case
Avaya Networking technologies continue to make significant progress with customers around the globe
Avaya has announced that it has been recognized by Gartner with the third highest product scores in two use cases out of six in the September 2015 Critical Capabilities for Wired and Wireless LAN Access Infrastructure Report. Avaya scored 3.64 out of 5 in the Enterprise Unified Wired and WLAN Access Use Case category and 3.62 out of 5 in the SMB and/or Mall or Remote Branch Office Use Case category.
Gartner defines “critical capabilities” as attributes that differentiate products/services in a class in terms of their quality and performance. Capabilities are generalized groups of features commonly required by a class of products/services, with the class of products in this report being wired and WLAN networking infrastructure. Each capability is assigned a level of importance in fulfilling the particular need of a use case; some sets of features are more important than others, depending on the use case being evaluated. Each vendor–s product or service is evaluated on a five-point scale in terms of how well it delivers each capability.
“Gartner recommends that users consider the set of critical capabilities as some of the most important criteria for acquisition decisions. In addition, Gartner believes that organizations generally benefit from a long-term strategy to use a unified wired/WLAN access layer. This results in:
Improved provisioning, orchestration and management
Reduced operating expenditures (opex)
Improved onboarding
Faster provisioning
Consistent policy enforcement”
Avaya continues to make significant progress with its Fabric Networking and Unified Access solutions. Announced earlier this year, the Avaya SDN Fx architecture is the first to deliver connect anything, anywhere simplicity that speeds provisioning by allowing devices and users at the edge of the network to be easily added to the network without the hidden complexity of other vendor approaches. The Avaya Open Network Adapter (ONA), was recently recognized with a from TechTarget, and earlier at . The — the world–s tallest skyscraper — is among the growing number of customers using SDN Fx as its networking infrastructure to support Internet of Things connectivity.
“The only way to make the Internet of Things a reality is with a streamlined, automated network that eliminates the current complexity and allows the –things– to automatically and securely connect at the edge. This is Avaya Networking–s driving principle for enabling a sustainable, networked future, and we believe our progress in the Gartner Critical Capabilities for Network Infrastructure report serves as evidence of that commitment.”
