The latest generation of smart phones and tablet computers feature larger, more vibrant touch screens which are ideal for a variety of multimedia activities including web browsing, viewing videos, and playing games. With the increase in display size and quality comes an expectation of a superior viewing experience. However, these same displays, which appear so vibrant indoors, are most often difficult or even impossible to view outdoors. As a result, OEMs and ODMs are constantly searching for ways to boost display viewability, especially in challenging conditions such as bright sunlight.
The speaker will present an overview of QuickLogic-s Visual Enhancement Engine (VEE), based on the iridix® core from Apical Limited, and Display Power Optimizer (DPO) technologies, which use a human eye model of perception to greatly enhance the viewability of mobile device displays in all ambient lighting conditions, while also saving a significant amount of system power.
QuickLogic Corporation is the inventor and pioneer of innovative, customizable semiconductor solutions for mobile and portable electronics OEMs and ODMs. These silicon plus software solutions are called Customer Specific Standard Products (CSSPs). CSSPs enable our customers to bring their products to market more quickly and remain in the market longer, with the low power, cost and size demanded by the mobile and portable electronics market.
