DANVERS, MA — (Marketwire) — 08/04/11 — , the market leader in environmentally-friendly and Data compliance, today announced the company has passed the rigorous ISO/IEC 17021 requirements to receive the Responsible Recycling (R2) accreditation.
“At XTechnology Global, our vision is to help customers dramatically reduce eWaste pollution through the implementation of formalized processes for responsible asset management recycling,” said Michael Saia, Chief Executive Officer, XTechnology Global. “As the second round of major certifications we-ve received in the past month, today-s announcement is a major milestone — squarely placing us as the de facto market leader in environmentally-friendly IT .”
Developed by the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), R2 is the only industry standard aimed at recognizing quality responsible recyclers. Key to R2 is a requirement that recyclers develop a formal reuse and recovery hierarchy for materials management, comply with all legal requirements, refurbish and properly test reusable equipment and components, and implement accepted data destruction procedures.
According to the EPA: “Responsible electronics recycling provides important benefits, such as: reducing environmental and human health impacts from improper recycling; increased access to quality reusable and refurbished equipment to those who need them; and reducing energy use and other environmental impacts.”
XTechnology Global offers a range of services aimed at the planning and disposal of IT assets to eliminate risk and recoup costs of new equipment through high-security processing, consolidating, sorting, and via a first-level disassembly facility.
