REDWOOD CITY, CA — (Marketwired) — 09/15/15 — , the leader in cloud ERP, is showcasing how it has brought enterprise-class ERP to midsize companies at Dreamforce, taking place September 15-18 in San Francisco, Calif. The powerful software that in the past has only been available to multi-billion dollar enterprises is now being used to drive growth and innovation at smaller, fast-paced companies. Midsize businesses can use the extensible solution to streamline their operations and drive intelligence into their organizations.
With 2,500 employees and annual sales of $2.3 billion, (formerly Del Monte Corporation and now part of the JM Smucker Company) is one of the largest producers, distributors and marketers of premium-quality pet foods in the United States. In January, they replaced close to 90 legacy applications with a single Kenandy system. The new system is running Big Heart–s headquarters in Pittsburgh, as well as five manufacturing facilities, 11 warehouses, and over 20 co-packer facilities around the country.
Kenandy is processing all of Big Heart–s sales orders, purchase orders, invoices, shipments, work orders, and complete financials. Kenandy delivers a “touchless” system that greatly speeds up order processing and reduces related costs. According to Big Heart–s former Senior Vice President, CIO and CPO, David McLain, the company–s transition to cloud-based applications is driving a 45 percent reduction in IT costs while enabling mobile and integration improvements. Over 60 percent of orders are processed completely touchless, increasing efficiency and responsiveness to customers.
“One of the main reasons we selected Kenandy was that we wanted a flexible system that easily adapts to business changes, such as new acquisitions, while also offering enterprise-class capabilities,” said McLain. “We replaced a patchwork of applications with one unified, extensible solution that can grow and scale with our needs.”
Kenandy is also meeting the requirements of large enterprises that fulfill complex bundled product orders consisting of hardware, software and services for connected businesses. Kenandy is currently engaged with in creating an order provisioning system for their HealthCare Informatics Solutions and Services (HISS) group. Kenandy is the system of engagement that enables Philips to have a complete view of their order-to-cash process. With Kenandy, Philips can orchestrate fulfillment and provisioning processes that span multiple product categories, internal systems and suppliers to execute and track orders, consolidate invoices and understand profit margins.
Kenandy–s midsize customers are benefitting from the same agile system that these global enterprises are using to support their rapid growth and drive innovation and intelligence into their businesses. All of the companies are using Kenandy to become more efficient by automating their operations and taking advantage of features such as mobility, social collaboration and Kenandy–s global capabilities.
Since they started using Kenandy, the (SFEG), a division of Berkshire Hathaway, has been able to reduce their headcount in customer service and purchasing by 30 percent. SFEG, based in Tennessee, produces transformers and other power solutions. They are planning to integrate Kenandy with their production robots and are also preparing for the Internet of Things by building intelligence into their products.
“More and more products are getting connected through the Internet, and we want to participate,” said Rob Goldiez, SFEG–s General Manager. “As more products that we offer get connected, we–ll be able to help customers pre-diagnose problems they may be having. Kenandy is a big part of that effort.”
realized that they needed an ERP system in the nick of time. Primus, a fast growing California-based clean tech startup, needed a system that would be easy to implement and use. They also needed a system that would easily integrate with their PLM system.
“The entire process — from signing on with Kenandy to going live — took less than three months,” said Mark Collins, Primus– Senior Director of Operations. “We would have gladly given up depth of functionality for usability if we–d had to. Fortunately, with Kenandy, we didn–t have to give up anything.”
An international company, needed a system their employees could use in China and the United States. Blue Clover Devices is an award-winning original design manufacturer (ODM) that produces UL-certified power and audio accessories for the world–s most popular digital devices. They also needed a system that would be easy to use and configure.
“Our prior ERP system only let us use one language,” says Blue Clover Devices President and Co-founder Pete Staples. “Kenandy–s global capabilities are a real benefit for us because everyone can use the system in his or her own language. Now we–re all on the same page, but in the language each of us fully understands. And Kenandy–s multicurrency capability also makes it easy for us to do our purchasing in Chinese renminbi and U.S. dollars.”
Other midsize clients include Civic Solar, MediMeals, ChicoBag, Merrow Sewing Machine Company, SPOC Automation, and 3 Sigma Corporation. While they span an array of industries, they have one thing in common: Kenandy is supporting their rapid growth and innovation with a product that is easy to implement, use and configure. Kenandy runs completely native on the Salesforce1 Platform, making the cloud ERP system completely extensible, mobile, social, and global.
“Midsize companies have the same basic requirements as large global enterprises: they need an extensible, modern system that can support and drive their fast growth,” said Sandra Kurtzig, Executive Chairman and Founder of Kenandy. “The implementation at Big Heart is a breakthrough event for ERP on the cloud, due to the size and complexity of the operation, but the beauty of Kenandy is that it scales to the needs of any size enterprise, in record time. In today–s rapidly changing business environment, all companies need to be agile to support their business processes, their growth, and the demands of their order-to-cash network.”
Dreamforce is the premier annual event for Salesforce clients, ISVs and anyone else who is interested in the latest trends in cloud computing.
