NEW YORK, NY — (Marketwired) — 09/14/15 — The Association for Passive Optical LAN ), a non-profit organization that is driving adoption and educating the market about the benefits of (LAN), will host a two-day seminar session on Sept 20-21 on the “Fundamentals of Passive Optical LAN” at .
Dedicated to cabling design, installation and IT professionals, the session will provide an overview of the value, architecture and advantages of . It will also take a deeper dive into designing and installation guidelines, including specifications for hardware currently available in the industry.
“As the communications and networking demands for enterprise continue to expand, more companies are seeking to future-proof their network, bringing added security, high availability, and reliability; while ensuring reduced operational and capital expenses,” says Thomas Ruvarac, Chairman of the APOLAN. “There is only one network technology able to deliver both sides of this equation: passive optical LAN.”
Fiber-based optical network is the next generation of enterprise LAN infrastructure. It provides the simplicity, scale and bandwidth to address current and future needs, while minimizing the need for costly cabling and equipment upgrades. It delivers capital savings and ongoing operational savings over traditional copper-based active Ethernet LAN.
Passive optical LAN is also a more sustainable alternative to copper-based LANs, providing significant energy savings. It is the optimized means to deliver voice, video, data, wireless access, security, and high-performance building automation.
In its mission to educate the market on the benefits of passive optical LAN, the association has registered more than 1,000 IT experts and technologists interested in their in-person and webinar educational sessions over the past 12 months.
During the same time period, APOLAN expanded its base by 50 percent, excluding the founding members. Membership ensures access to the APOLAN website and existing resources, in addition to making their own content available to other members and the industry.
The APOLAN (booth #115) is available to meet at the BICSI Fall Conference & Exhibition, taking place September 20-24 in Las Vegas, Nevada.
(The Association for Passive Optical LAN is a non-profit organization that is driving adoption, and educating the market about the technical and economic advantages of passive optical LAN technology. Through its members comprised of manufacturers, distributors, integrators and consulting companies actively involved in the marketplace, the Association hopes to help design engineers, architects, building owners, CIOs and IT departments succeed with passive optical LAN.
