GREENVILLE, SC — (Marketwired) — 09/09/15 — Encore Technology Group is pleased to announce a partnership with Texas Education Service Center (ESC) Region 11 and two Texas Educational Technology Purchasing Consortium (TETPC) contracts that make Encore Software Solutions and Contracted Services available to educational institutions throughout Texas.
Encore Software Solutions (ESS) delivers simplicity and security through an intuitive single sign-on interface for students and educators, while arming IT administrators with powerful automated account provisioning and user management tools. ESS is available as either an on-premise solution or a hosted solution, depending on school district size.
Contracted Services includes CloudArchive and CloudFilter for email, CloudVoice for VoIP phone service, Office 365 and Google deployments, network monitoring, and a variety of engineering support and technical implementation services for educational institutions.
Encore worked closely with ESC Region 11 to make ESS — which qualifies for Instructional Materials Allotment funds — and Contracted Services available through TETPC. In addition to supporting the 67,940 educators and 556,895 students within its own boundaries, ESC Region 11 manages the statewide buying consortium known as TETPC. Region 11 is also an integral part of the ESS hosted solution, which is ideal for school districts with fewer than 7,000 users.
“With these two contracts, we weren–t just choosing a reputable vendor with special pricing for Region 11 and the 19 other ESCs throughout the state; we were choosing a long-term partner trusted to act as an extension of our team,” said David Sons, director of information technology at ESC Region 11. “By partnering with Encore, we–re able to not only pass along their services at great savings to every school district in Texas, including those in our own region, but we–re also able to offer the hosted solutions that are preferred by many smaller districts.”
Encore is no stranger to the technology needs of Texas school districts. Denton ISD is one customer already benefitting from the connectivity automation and analytics available through the ESS platform. Denton ISD is a Region 11 district north of Dallas that encompasses 180 square miles and several dozen schools, with total enrollment exceeding 26,000 students.
“Getting new employees and students into Active Directory at the start of each school year was a nightmare. For three to four weeks each summer, an entire team of people would do nothing but sit and create accounts. Since deploying ESS, which is integrated with our student information system, at the push of a button, we automatically provision all student accounts within a matter of hours,” said Ernie Stripling, technology information officer for Denton ISD.
Sometimes the process doesn–t even require a button push. Because ESS is also integrated with Denton–s HR system, new hire accounts are automatically created during the onboarding process.
With ESS, teachers and students have simple and secure access to their email account(s) — as well as the specific textbooks, apps, documents and files used in their grade level at their school — through a single sign-on interface. Staff and students have one user name and one password, which means less time spent logging into various pieces of software and resetting forgotten passwords, and more time focusing on enriching the education of students in Texas.
Stripling says Encore–s “customer service is impeccable, technicians are genius-level, and they have a vision of how to help schools automate processes.” In fact, automation is a large part of the reason why his team of only 22 techs is able to support 26,000 students, 3,800 employees, 15,000 computers and 400 pieces of software. “We–re no longer hunkering down to create accounts. We–re out there helping teachers and training them, so they can do their jobs better.”
“We–re excited to work with Region 11 and through our TETPC contracts to help Texas school districts achieve the same efficiencies as Denton ISD and dozens of other education customers in Texas and across the nation,” said Michael Knight, Encore–s CTO. “Every education solution we provide — from CloudVoice to email archiving to single sign-on platforms to analytics and more — is designed to increase agility, increase efficiency, and save costs as well as to modernize learning and foster a sense of community.”
