Battery Ventures Announces Promotions of Investment-Team Members Across Global Offices

BOSTON, MA and MENLO PARK, CA and HERZLIYA, ISRAEL — (Marketwired) — 09/01/15 — Battery Ventures, an investment firm focused on innovation and technology worldwide, has promoted three team members from three different offices to the role of vice-president, highlighting the firm–s global reach and activity across various technology sectors.

Sanjiv Kalevar, who focuses on business software and financial technology; Jeff Lu, who is active in e-commerce and digital media as well as enterprise-software companies; and Shiran Shalev, who focuses on enterprise software and financial technology, all have been promoted from associate to vice president.

Kalevar, who joined Battery in 2013, is based in Battery–s Boston office and is involved with Battery portfolio investments RiskIQ and SmarterHQ. He previously worked for companies including 37signals, makers of the popular project-management software Basecamp, and Constellation Software.

Lu is a three-year veteran of Battery who works in Silicon Valley. He currently works with Battery portfolio companies 6Sense, Blue Jeans Network, Boost Media, Entelo and Sprig. Prior to Battery, Lu was the CEO and co-founder of Daily Aisle, an Opentable-like service for wedding venues.

Shalev joined Battery–s Herzliya, Israel office in 2013 and focuses on investments in enterprise infrastructure, application software and financial technology. He is currently involved with Battery–s investments in CrediFi, Datumate, Elastifile and GuardiCore.

Battery also announced that Ben Johnston, who started at Battery in 2011, has rejoined the firm as a vice president in Menlo Park after earning his MBA. He is involved with Battery–s investments in Tealium, Q2ebanking, Optimizely, and Xenex.
