SYDNEY, AUSTRALIA — (Marketwired) — 08/10/15 — We are officially opening the doors to section.io, a service for developers to deploy website caching in the cloud with; SSL, metrics, logs, and alerting. section.io provides developers with easy and immediate access to the best platform to help them accelerate and optimize performance of their websites.

Aimed at Devop–s and Web Developers () is a new service for setting up the open source HTTP acceleration proxy for web applications. Users can sign up and within 2 minutes have a globally distributed cache solution. The burdens of server deployment, server management, implementation of metrics, logs, and day-to-day management are completely lifted by section.io.

Over the next 5 years, Cisco predicts “global Internet traffic will increase from 40 Exabyte–s per annum to 140 and more than 61% of that traffic will traverse Content Delivery Solutions”. Currently more than 2.2 million websites (based on Builtwith) are currently running Varnish Cache to help manage the content for their websites.
