SAN ANTONIO, TX — (Marketwired) — 07/29/15 — Geomedia, a national production, visual effects and interactive media house headquartered in San Antonio, is introducing its first immersive virtual reality app to iPhone users this month, DinoTrek VR Experience for Cardboard. DinoTrek VR is a cinematic adventure that transports users into a fully rendered, 360-degree prehistoric world where dinosaurs roam the earth — eating, exploring and fighting. DinoTrek takes users on a harrowing journey through the lives of dinosaurs — from every angle imaginable.
“DinoTrek VR is a fully realized VR experience that anyone can enjoy,” Geomedia interactive director Jeremy Kenisky said. “It doesn–t matter how old you are or how hip you are to new technology, users just need to cue up the app on Cardboard and they–re suddenly transported to a totally new world.”
DinoTrek VR is available on the App Store and is designed for use with the iPhone 6 and iPhone 6+ and the Google Cardboard headset. However, a Cardboard headset is not required to enjoy DinoTrek VR. Users without a headset can still experience the app in widescreen mode on their mobile device. Future updates will include an unlockable spooky twilight version of the experience and introduce compatibility with Zeiss, Homido, Merge and other headset devices.
“Consumer virtual reality is just starting to take off, and Google Cardboard is making it really accessible for everyone. However, there isn–t a lot of high-quality mobile VR content for mobile out there yet,” Kenisky said. “We produced DinoTrek VR to introduce a cutting-edge VR app to iPhone users and to allow a broader userbase to enjoy this new technology.”
