MENLO PARK, CA — (Marketwired) — 06/01/15 — Delphix, the market leader in Data as a Service, today announced the third-annual Delphix Technology Scholarship for Women, a software development competition for women university students. The scholarship is designed to foster workplace diversity in engineering by encouraging women students to pursue technical degrees. The winner of the scholarship will receive a $5,000 grant to cover costs associated with earning a technical degree such as computer science, mathematics and information technology.
Ideal submissions will demonstrate creativity and technical acumen to solve a specific problem, with strong design, implementation, testing, documentation and collaboration included. The 2014 scholarship winner, Vinamrata Singal, a student at Stanford University, developed an application named OnCall, which enables university students to quickly locate an on-call resident assistant (RA) within a specific on-campus housing unit.
To qualify for the Delphix Technology Scholarship for Women, applicants must:
Identify as a woman
Be enrolled full time at an accredited university during the calendar year 2016
Be pursuing a technical degree (e.g., computer science, mathematics, information technology, electrical engineering or related field)
Submit a software-only computer program
Submissions are evaluated by a committee of Delphix engineers based on source code, binaries and supporting materials such as tests or documentation. Submissions must include a link to a recorded demo of the application while it is running.
Delphix is now accepting submissions at . Submissions must be received by Nov. 15, 2015 at 11:59 p.m. PST. Delphix will announce the scholarship winner in December 2015.
