With this extension of the SGI UV appliance, the SGI solution can provide up to 12 terabytes (TB) of in-memory computing capacity in a single node. SAP-certified at 4- and 8-sockets just , the highly scalable and configurable architecture of the SGI appliance helps enable enterprises running SAP HANA to achieve real-time business at ever-greater scale and lower total cost of ownership.
SGI UV for SAP HANA is a purpose-built, in-memory computing platform for large or growing environments running on SAP HANA. Utilizing a differentiated, single-node architecture, the SGI appliance delivers outstanding performance to gain the business breakthroughs of SAP Business Suite 4 SAP HANA (SAP S/4HANA) at extreme scale. The simplicity of the single-node system also helps enterprises eliminate additional overhead associated with clustered systems management, helps to ensure high availability, and allows enterprises to expand seamlessly with near-linear performance.

SGI UV for SAP HANA features SGI UV 300H, the specialized offering in the SGI® UV server line that couples seventh-generation SGI in-memory computing technology, Intel® Xeon® processor E7-8890 v2 with 15-core processors, and ultrafast SGI NUMAlink® 7 interconnects. The appliance is SAP-certified with general availability from 4- to 8-sockets with up 6TB of shared memory, and with controlled availability for 12- and 16-sockets with up to 12TB of shared memory.

The SGI UV 300H architecture is ultimately designed to scale to 32-sockets and up to 24TB as a single-node system. NetApp® E2700 RAID arrays provide backup of data and log files in support of the SGI UV300H architecture, in the event of power loss. The appliance is pre-configured with SAP HANA running . Systems will be deployed by SGI professional services, with SAP offering licensing for SAP HANA and first-line support for the solution.
