SAN FRANCISCO, CA — (Marketwired) — 04/22/15 — Mesosphere, creators of the world–s first datacenter operating system, today announced a new initiative to collaborate with Google on Kubernetes to deliver the most flexible integrated solution to build, deploy and manage cloud-native applications in standalone and hybrid cloud computing environments. As part of this collaboration, Mesosphere will incorporate Kubernetes into the Mesosphere Datacenter Operating Systems (DCOS).
Mesosphere–s Kubernetes on DCOS will provide companies of all sizes a way to to easily build and deploy Kubernetes cloud-native applications on the same cluster as other services, whether on-premises or in the cloud. Kubernetes is an open source project for building applications that is based on more than a decade of Google–s experience in managing large-scale, distributed applications. The collaboration between Google and Mesosphere will allow enterprises to run Kubernetes applications on very large clusters (thousands of nodes) in a private datacenter, or in any public cloud. The Kubernetes integration with the Mesosphere DCOS also allows organizations to run multiple services concurrently on the same shared infrastructure and makes it easy to add Kubernetes to existing Apache Mesos or Mesosphere DCOS deployments.
