Version 0.8.8 of Gnuaccounting adds suport for sales taxes:
Until recently, only value added taxes were supported: In Europe, VAT is issued on all invoices and paid by both private and business customers. The businesses, however, announce how much VAT they spend on invoices of other companies and the IRS compensates this amount.
In the new version, it is possible to additionally enable sales tax and define per customer if this sales tax should be applied.
Additionally, this setting can be overridden per transactions, so the user can exceptionally enable or disable sales tax for customers with different defaults.
Further corrections and improvements are mentioned in the release notes.
Gnuaccounting 0.8.8 is available since Thursday, April 16th 2015, 11:00 CET on http://sourceforge.net/projects/gnuaccounting/files/gnuaccounting/ .
