EDMONTON, ALBERTA — (Marketwired) — 03/20/15 — The proliferation of smart tablets and mobile devices has touched every facet of society, introducing an entirely new way for people to interact with technology and each other. Now, with Visionstate–s recent launch of its interactive stroller technology, even young children can enjoy a trip to the local shopping center.
The new app, loaded on 7 inch tablets mounted inside the strollers, enables children to watch high quality programming while parents go about their shopping experience. The app features a selection of videos that can be scrolled and selected with the touch of a button. The first fleet of retrofitted strollers were introduced at Southgate Centre in Edmonton, Alberta on March 17.
“Visionstate is extremely pleased by how well our interactive strollers have been received. The kids love the programming, and younger families are finding the content to be both engaging and entertaining for the children,” said Visionstate CEO, John Putters.
“We are pleased and excited that Visionstate was able to work with us and our inventory of Kiddy Kars to come up with an effective approach to reintroduce and customize the children–s video delivery system. Easy to operate and initial customer response has been excellent,” said Southgate Centre General Manager, Paul Fairbridge.
The stroller app, which can be easily fitted on to existing kiddie cars, is named KIT, an acronym for Kids– Interactive Television. For Visionstate, the app represents a continued expansion of its product base to serve the shopping center industry. KIT is a compliment to the company–s interactive directories, named ViCCi, its associated mobile app, and WANDA, a restroom management tool that has been installed in shopping malls and hospitals throughout North America.
“Our goal is to make the shopping experience both efficient and engaging,” Putters adds. “Visionstate technology facilitates this, and now we–ve added something fun and engaging for the kids as well.”
Future plans for the app include interactive games and expanded video content.
