Toshiba Awarded PEPPM Agreement for Technology Bidding and Purchasing for Schools, Libraries and Government Agencies

IRVINE, CA — (Marketwired) — 02/17/15 — Toshiba America Information Systems, Inc., Telecommunication Systems Division (Toshiba — ) today announced that it has been awarded an agreement for the (“Pep-um”) Technology Bidding and Purchasing Program. Toshiba–s award-winning , and business telephone solutions are now available on PEPPM. Created in 1982, PEPPM has been the bid program of choice for U.S. K-12 schools, colleges, universities, libraries, and government agencies. It has exceeded $2 billion in sales while providing more than $500 million in savings.

“PEPPM delivers a one-stop shop for secure bidding and affordable purchase of Toshiba–s VIPedge, IPedge and Strata CIX business telephone solutions,” said Brian Metherell, vice president and general manager of Toshiba America Information Systems, Inc., Telecommunication Systems Division. “Toshiba–s solutions can also be combined for a Hybrid Cloud network for multiple locations.”

PEPPM is the marketplace for technology products for California and Pennsylvania. Other states can piggyback on these contracts to make purchases for eligible schools, libraries and government agencies. Toshiba offers its PEPPM bid prices listed on the PEPPM website to all states except Alaska.

For buyers, PEPPM reduces the time, effort and cost of purchasing technology by eliminating the need to bid. It ensures the best price, adheres to statutes and regulations, maintains all bid documentation and delivers a reliable, convenient and easy-to-use bid and purchase process. Using PEPPM results in a lower cost of ownership of technology for schools, libraries and government agencies.

For Authorized Toshiba Dealers, PEPPM provides a single reach to bids from thousands of schools, libraries and government agencies nationwide. PEPPM coordinates the bids and purchases, eliminating the need for dealers to respond to individual bids. It conducts bids according to individual state statutes and regulations, making the bid process easier for dealers. PEPPM also archives pricing and purchase orders for audit verification for audit protection.

VIPedge Application Service, a cloud-based subscription service that provides advanced unified communications, mobility and messaging for Strata CIX business telephone systems; and

, a robust unified communications solution that empowers users to communicate on Windows® and Mac® laptops and desktop computers and Apple® and Android smartphones and tablets across Toshiba–s cloud and on-premises business telephone solutions, including hybrid cloud and on-premises networked solutions.

PEPPM contracts can be used for E-Rate purchases. The E-Rate Program provides $2.25 billion annually to U.S. public and non-profit K-12 schools, as well as all public and many private libraries, to help them obtain affordable telecommunications and Internet access. E-Rate discounts range from 20 percent to 70 percent of the cost of eligible voice services based on the location and income levels of the school or library.
