Communications solution for Altera FPGA with new functionalities

The Softing Protocol IP V1.21 now supports Altera’s latest Cyclone V SoC family. Another new key feature is the optimization of the hardware-based data throughput, allowing fast cycle times down to 50 µs. Besides Industrial Ethernet, Softing’s Protocol IP now also permits the flexible integration of PROFIBUS functionality into field devices. It provides an easy way to implementing devices that are based on Altera–s Cyclone FPGA family and that need to support Industrial Ethernet (EtherCAT, EtherNet/IP, Ethernet POWERLINK, Modbus/TCP, PROFINET) and PROFIBUS.
