TP-LINK Introduces Cloud-Based Smart Home Devices

LAS VEGAS, NV — (Marketwired) — 01/06/15 — TP-LINKĀ®, a global provider of consumer and SMB networking products, today announced the U.S. release of the HS100, HS110 and HS200 at the 2015 International CES. The Smart Home devices utilize the TP-LINK cloud-based server and mobile application to provide 24/7 on-demand access, scheduled automation, manual control and real-time monitoring of home electrical appliances and devices wherever an Internet connection is available.

“The demand for simple, effective and always accessible home automation control is increasing due to the fast-paced lifestyle of today–s consumer and a rise in the use of interconnected devices,” said Lewis Wu, executive vice president of TP-LINK U.S. “We are excited about the Internet of Things, and our release of the HS100, HS110 and HS200 in the U.S. will help satisfy the growing demand for home automation control.”

The HS100 and HS110 are Wi-Fi DC outlet plug devices compatible with any traditional single-phase 110V electrical system. After a simple activation process, a mobile app helps users manage their setup, control, scheduling and monitoring settings for easy accessibility anytime and anywhere. Owners may plug any electrical appliance, such as lamps and televisions, into the Smart Home devices, controlling them through a user-created schedule. In addition, the HS110 can track the energy consumption of connected devices.

The HS200 replaces a traditional 110V single-phase light switch. Once installed, the device allows users to access, control, schedule and monitor permanently installed building fixtures such as lights, ceiling fans and air-conditioning units.
